Section 1 Name:
The registered name of the
club shall be: The Chinese
Shar-Pei Club of Canada (CSPCC). This club will serve
as the parent breed club for all provincial, regional and local Chinese Shar- Pei clubs
Section 2 Goal:
The CSPCC has been formed
to serve people interested
in Chinese Shar-Pei in Canada with the following goals:
(a) To encourage and
promote the breeding of healthy,
purebred Chinese Shar-Pei according to the current
recognized standard of the CKC and the CSPCC.
(b) To encourage the organization of
independent,
local Chinese Shar-Pei specialty clubs in those areas where there is sufficient fanciers of the breed to meet the requirements of the CKC.
(c) To conduct CKC
sanctioned matches and specialty
shows under the rules of the CKC and encourage
sportsmanlike behavior at these shows.
(d) To hold an annual
National Specialty show each year to select the National Best of Breed winner.
(e) To encourage
Canadian breeders to attend CKC sanctioned Chinese Shar-Pei specialty shows in order
to increase their knowledge of the breed.
(f) To encourage members to be active
in the CSPCC
and the CKC.
Section 3 Club Ethics:
The club shall not be conducted or
operated for profit.
No part of any profit or remainder or
residue from dues
or donations to the club shall benefit any one member.
The Club will welcome
all applicants who meet the membership requirements and not let
individual differences interfere with the goals of the Club.
Section 4 Members’
responsibilities:
To act in general for
the welfare of the Chinese Shar-Pei.
To be a responsible
owner.
To have a general
knowledge of the Breed Standard.
To act at all times as
an ambassador for our club and our breed.
Section 5
Breeders’ responsibilities:
To agree to improve your breeding
stock.
To agree to not breed any dogs found
with Dysphasia.
To provide CKC registration papers for
all dogs sold and list as non-breeding any dogs with disqualifying
faults according to the current Breed Standard, or with congenital
health problems.
To clearly lay out any contractual
responsibilities on paper.
To ensure that the dog sold is suitable
for the purchaser and vice versa.
To show the purchaser the dam and sire
of any puppy if possible.
To offer follow up support and maintain
contact with the
purchaser.
To tattoo or microchip all dogs in
accordance with CKC
procedures.
